Highly lifted fruit. Ripe and clean rich plums and black cherry. Slight raspberries, honey, vanilla and a cedar oak background all integrate nicely to provide lots of lovely aromas to smell.

Rich fruit expressed as a prevalent mulberry character with plums. A lovely touch of vanillin and slight oak add the finishing touches to provide a very nice drop.

It’s quite remarkable that in the record hot summer of 2000, our merlot grapes, with their thin skins and delicate fruit flesh, were able to withstand the intense heat. Pruning in order to provide a large shade canopy for bunches was the key this year. The wine was taken out of the oak barrels at just the right time. So as not to leave too much oak flavour which would over power the fruit. The final result is a beautiful fruity merlot that drinks superbly. It is likely to improve with age for around five years. Enjoy it with your favourite foods.
